Ship History
One of the first four ships in ST:ACTD, the USS Geneva was the last of that era at the time of its decommissioning. (The USS Griffon and USS Callisto were destroyed in 1998, and the original USS Seleya was destroyed in 2002). The ship was heavily damaged by a severe explosion caused by sabotage on it's 400th mission that virtually destroyed the aft end of the engineering hull. Due to the severity of the damage, Starfleet decommissioned the ship rather than initiate the extensive repairs that would be needed to restore the ship to active service.
Parts of the Geneva were plundered to be incorporated into the SS Maleficent. It is currently unknown how those involved in the creation of the aforementioned vessel had access to the Geneva wreckage (USS Seleya Stardate 10710.28).
