  • Kraken - I've set up the page as best I can, so the Kraken is on here somewhere, Chris, but I'm having a hell of a time trying to upload the logo. Tried twice, failed twice, don't want to mess things up any more without some guidance. It's within size parameters, so I'm unsure why it's not generating a thumbnail.

  • Abertura - Ok, I can see the technical layouts are a redundancy... In truth I was basically just transfering data from the old Abertura homepage encyclopedia straight to wiki. I will try to avoid future technical stuff that is already in the tech page (havent even looked at that page though). as for the additional information from Abertura, sure send it my way.--Letum 04:16, 16 April 2007 (UTC)

A note on the bug reports for you Chris, 3 of the problems are actually the same one (loss of session data, getting signed out, suddenly being signed in as another user) are all related to the php installation on the box not storing sessions properly, session files are getting corrupted. I will be attempting to reinstall php later this week. The problem is not just with this site by the way, the 7th Chevron wiki, and the 3E Profiler for ITOH are having similar problems with sessions. :Nick M 02:13, 22 August 2006 (EDT)

  • This message was located by you on the Community Portal: "Should NPC ships be listed on Techspecs pages? If not, should we start a list of ships by class somewhere?" This was intended as a possible test as an option so that we can classify ships by class (both official and NPC). - C.J. Tala 01:27, 31 October 2006 (EST)

Chris, have you considered issuing a tie-breaking vote for yourself in regards to the new Kuro rank pips, or any vote facing a tie for that matter? If it works in the US Senate where the Vice President can cast a tie-breaking vote, why couldn't that hold true here as well? --Kvolt 12:21, 9 January 2007 (EST)

when i made the "uss dakota" page i made in to a redirect, i must have gotten the code wrong, sorry for the problem. --Wheller 19:59, 27 February 2007 (EST)

  • USS Scorpius - The USS Scorpius isn't really inactive, the crew was merged with Kootenai Station and the ship is used as a support ship. Maybe a special footer could be used for that kind of situation --The Gabe 00:32, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

Just thought I would drop in and say Hi, been thinking about making a comeback --Cnance 02:10, 21 December 2009 (UTC)

Show Last 500

  • Hey, I've noticed that since the reinstall I am not able to use "Show Last...500" on either the 'Recent Changes' page nor the 'Wanted Pages' page. When selected I just get a blank page. --Jafo 15:37, 8 January 2007 (EST)
    • Same thing happens when you try to submit changes to large articles, it corrects itself when I refresh and send the same data. Sounds like a software malfunction. --Locutus 15:48, 8 January 2007 (EST)

Theta and Others

Hm... I suppose that would be why the maneuvers are not listed, but the references to it are. I know about the 'no original thought' clause. I also know about the clause that allows for Mission transcripts (Quote: In the ST:ACTD realm, this also includes mission transcripts (including Play by Email Division and Newsfleet Division similar archives)). Perhaps you would like me to externally link to each of those quotes? I can do such a thing. I assure you, sir, there is no original thought in that article.

Additionally, I've heard/read some rather disconcerting information about you and Mister Ben-Tovim and comments made about some of the ACTD members. Perhaps you could illuminate me as to the problems the two of you have?

To Do

  • Regarding the to do project on creating a welcome page, I'm willing to do it, but is there a set deadline? If not, I can do it as I have free time - a work around my schedule kind of thing. :P -- Mike Y., Newsfleet Division Manager 05:09, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

Character Images

  • Hey Chris,

Yup, I know--that image was an addition, rather than a replacement, which is why I didn't overwrite in this particular instance. I do have some images that I updated using the overwrite, and I don't know if previous versions can be deleted by admins--if they can, the earlier versions of SvetlanaRecPic.JPG, Kya2.JPG, and WhatGoesAroundPoster.jpg could be deleted. --Shelwass 10:28, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

Seleya Mission Images

Hey Chris, the only three that are technically mission posters actually already have the arc name in the titles - "Welcome to the Universe," "The Fate Makers," and "Adrift." The rest are just "theme posters" for various themes, sub-plots during the year and have no corresponding arc. Hope that helps. -- ACTDMJones 16:16 16 November, 2007 (EST)

How about this:

Theme Poster 1 - "Seven" Theme Poster 2 - "The Elusive Mister Bolitho" Theme Poster 3 - "The Mortal Coil" Theme Poster 4 - "Faith" Theme Poster 5 - "Legacy" Theme Poster 6 - "The Elusive Mister Bolitho" Theme Poster 7 - "The Elusive Mister Bolitho"

Jessica Hopetoun-Wood

Hi. Apologies for the confusion, I'm sort of working the wiki out organically. Yes, she is my character, and all the information on her comes from the Denali Aftermath arc. Re. the rank that's my confusion between a Fleet Admiral and an Admiral inthe Fleet, so I'll change it - she ought to be a fleet Admiral rather than a Fleet Admiral if you get my meaning? - Felix

Department Logos

Chris, they were from Kris Trigwell also known as Reverend. Most of the time all he does is re-create the ones on Star Trek episodes but double checking the other departments I also realized they were not original ones. You should get rid of them. Sorry about that.--Ricardogonzalez 17:40, 17 January 2008 (EST)

ISS Valkyrie

The Post you mentioned does not say anything definate about the Ship having an 'ISS' prefix or not, however, as I am tired of Aruging wheather or not it does or doesn't, i will go with the Argument that it does not have the 'ISS' Prefix --Wheller 20:12, 27 February 2008 (EST)

Station Roster Question

Hey Chris, I have been working on editing Denali Station's page. However, I have noticed that the CSEC's name appears on the edit page, and yet, does not show up when the page is uploaded. In addition to this, Denali does not have the position of CBO, and yet, it shows up on the uploaded page but not the edit page. Is there a way to have that position removed? CBO and OPS are combined positions on Denali. :-) Thanks! --Cory 18:45, 30 April 2008

Inactive Ships

Hello Chris, I didn't know the USS Seleya was set to inactive. To my knowlegde the ship is still in service? --Rob van den Dungen 09:31, 3 May 2008 (EDT)

Right. Got the wrong one there.... --CDickinson 11:35, 3 May 2008 (EDT)

Import/Update from ODN

Hey Chris... I noticed you have an update character function... how does that work? Gilles --SchnSilek 14:23, 23 March 2009 (EDT)

Are you looking for technical details on the database query, or a guide to using it? --CDickinson 19:04, 23 March 2009 (EDT)
Using it. --SchnSilek 09:17, 24 March 2009 (EDT)
For any given character (PC), there should be an "update character" tab at the top of the page between "edit" and "history". Just click it, and it will show you a preview diff and allow you to cancel or proceed. If a character article isn't already on the wiki, there's a link on the left hand sidebar that says "Import a character" with pretty decent instructions. If the "update character" doesn't show up or doesn't work, let me know. --CDickinson 10:45, 24 March 2009 (EDT)
That "Update Character" feature... is it only an Admin feature? --SchnSilek 14:18, 25 March 2009 (EDT)
It's not. Since you keep asking, I guess you don't see it. Point out what article. --CDickinson 16:32, 25 March 2009 (EDT)
No, I see it fine... I just noticed someone else asking about it too. --SchnSilek 10:45, 26 March 2009 (EDT)

ODN Update Permissions

Hey Chris. While doing a little bit of roster upkeep for the Third Fleet, I noticed two characters in particular on the Andromeda that were horribly out of date compared to what they currently are on ODN. However, I abstained from updating due to the warning message shown regarding permissions after clicking the Update Character tab. So who has permission to update characters via the ODN Update Character function? Do I have to obtain authorization from the players of each and every character I wanted to update? What's the verdict on this? --Kvolt 02:02, 24 March 2009 (EDT)

Admittedly, I've never noticed that. Since the ODN and its information is usable on other affiliated ACTD websites, there shouldn't be a problem copying text; the only issue would be the character images, if they're property of someone else (i.e. not the player). --CDickinson 10:45, 24 March 2009 (EDT)

I'm confused...

I thought Eldad was working on this bug last night...

He comes up confused and can't replace it...

http://startrek.acalltoduty.com/wiki/index.php?title=ST_ACTD_Wiki_talk%3ABug_reports&diff=38858&oldid=38857

This bug was fixed by you Chris?

If so... what bug was Eldad working on last night?

Gilles

--SchnSilek 21:59, 6 August 2009 (EDT)

If the bug is fixed, it can no longer be replicated, no? Hope you can put the rest of the pieces together yourself. --CDickinson 22:08, 6 August 2009 (EDT)
Thank you for your complete and concise explanation. You and Eldad make a great team.--SchnSilek 04:01, 7 August 2009 (EDT)
