The McGrady family is best known for it's history of fine lutherie, specifically the production of fine handmade acoustic guitars and mandolins. The McGrady Guitar Company was established by the first Ryan Mcgrady, and control of the company was passed down to the firstborn male McGrady for 8 generations. Currently, the company is owned and operated by Ryan McGrady VIII, who works quite closely with his son, Ryan McGrady IX. Dierdre, the wife of Ryan VIII, is a semi-retired social worker. The Mcgrady's have four other children: Doane McGrady, a Starfleet Officer; Gwendolyn and Shannon McGrady, who comprise the "McGrady Sisters" - a traditional Irish folk duo; and the youngest, Patrick McGrady, an aspiring yet struggling playwright.
