Family history
Admiral Richard McPherson (Father)- Richard McPherson is an Admiral within Star Fleet, where his current assignment is in Star Fleet Engineering. Admiral McPherson is currently teaching an Advanced Engineering Class for those who have been promoted to Chief Engineering Officer.
Professor Lee Smith-McPherson (Mother)- A civilian archeologist who teaches archeology classes at Star Fleet Academy. Prof. Smith-McPherson teaches these classes to Cadets who are going into the Science field within Star Fleet. Besides teaching, she is currently doing an archeological research on Ancient Nomads in Asia.
Commander Richard L. McPherson (Youngest Son)- Youngest son to Richard and Lee, he is currently serving on the U.S.S. Excellence as her Acting Commanding Officer. He is the previous Science Officer and like his mother, Richard has a love for Science and how Science plays an important role in the workings of the Universe.
Commander Jerni Ambrish Catraina Quest-McPherson (Spouse) - Jerni Roenin was born on star date 7812.01, in Hong Kong, earth. As she grew up, her mother encouraged her to develop her telepathic/empathic skills. However, Jerni saw little use in acquiring this skill, and thus suppressed her Betazoid heritage altogether.
Her mother never talked about her real father. Jerni does not know her rightful surname. At the age of accountability, she changed her last name from Roenin to Quest to reflect her love and admiration for the only father she had ever known and loved. Everyone that knew her could testify that she was a curious child with an awful temper. Unfortunately, that combination got her into a lot of trouble when she was young. This got worse after she moved with her parents on the USS Ryerson, when she was 5. The counselor on board the Ryerson, suggested that Jerni should get involved with extracurricular activities to keep her busy, and out of trouble.
Jerni found herself in many activities when she was young, including music lessons, martial arts classes, chess tournaments and writing. At the age of 11 Jerni would be involved in an unfortunate incident involving the Captain’s son. She had lost her temper again and broke his nose. No one would have anticipated that her two weeks of punishment spent working along side her mother in sickbay would have lead to a newfound interest in medicine. The two weeks were not as torturous as she imagined. In fact, her interest towards medicine grew, and decided that it was the career she wished to pursue. From then on, she worked regularly in sickbay to learn more about the medical field.
At the age of 15, the whole family moved back to earth, due to Aleena’s new posting at Star Fleet Medical. With her father’s help throughout her life, Jerni was able to excel in her studies, and graduated from high school early. Soon after returning to earth, she was accepted into the Academy. Due to her previous experiences and training, she was able to challenge many of the earlier courses, allowing her freedom to do practicum missions. These practicum missions were usually quite uneventful. However, there was this one incident when the ship that she was serving on for a 1 week mission turned out to be a disaster. The ship was boarded.
During the confusion that followed, Jerni hid in a Jefferies tube. Over the course of events, Jerni met and befriended a spy from the rescue ship, Jay Davidson, and with his help, she was able to escape the confinement of the Jefferies tube. Unfortunately, as they were beamed out of the crippled ship, the ship exploded. Jay rematerialized on the rescue ship, but Jerni didn’t. She was presumed dead. However, Jerni was found 4 months later, unconscious at her parents’ doorstep.
After two months of fruitless investigation by doctors and counselors to determine what had happened, Jerni was allowed to go back to her regular life. Jerni recalls nothing from said time period. She graduated from medical school with honours several years later, and accepted a post as the Chief Medical Officer on the USS Apache.
Shortly thereafter, Jerni was re-assigned as Executive Officer of the USS Artemis. Later she mysteriously disappears from Earth Station McKinley during a ceremony for the USS Artemis without a trace on Star date 10009.01 and two weeks later presumed missing in the line of duty.
T'Ana (Adopted Daughter) - T'Ana was born to the Vulcan parents of Tokath, her father, and Varel, her mother. Tokath and Ewan both went through the Academy together. They met in their "Maintaining, the Warp Core" class, where they fast became friends.
Ewan met Tokaths' wife, Varel, when he was invited to Tokath's home for a traditional Vulcan dinner. Varel was also a cadet at the Academy, but instead of Engineering like her husband, she was in Science. Over the 4 years at the Academy, Tokath and Ewan were as good of friends as Spock and Kirk.
One night during a dinner, Tokath and Varel asked Ewan, if they ever had children in the future would he be their Godfather and Ewan accepted. On Stardate 10012.24, a short while after Jerni's disappearance, Ewan received even more bad news. It seems that in a shuttle accident, Tokath and Varel had lost their lives when they went back to Earth.
Miraculously, their daughter, T'Ana survived the crash. Since the parents of both Tokath and Varel were deceast, the 2 month old child was placed with the family of the Vulcan Ambassador while they were on Earth.
The Ambassador later learned from a recording made by T'Anas' parents, that upon their deaths, they wanted T'Ana to be adopted by Ewan C. McPherson. After much red tape and Vulcan tradition, T'Ana was finally adopted by Ewan, but he has a lot of learning to do about the Vulcan race and their traditions.
Until Ewan learns all that he has to and with the Vulcan Ambassador's approval, T'Ana lives with her adopted grandparents, Richard and Lee.
