Family history
At the age of 7 she suffered a major trauma due to the death of her mother and many among her family thought she would spend the rest of her life in waste mourning her mother’s death. Her father refused to give up on her and devoted most of his time trying to get back the child that he knew so well. During the warm quiet nights, her father would tell her stories of their heritage and slowly Izaina felt a longing to visit the places in Scotland that her father had mentioned. It was at the age of 10 that the two decided to return to Edinburgh though they would return to Napea every year to visit her mother’s grave. In was in Scotland that her father remarried and Izaina gained a half sister, Eliza, with whom she developed a close bond quickly having no other sibling previously. The two of them would exchange stories about the stars and planets and it wasn’t a surprise to their parents when both of them decided to enter Starfleet Academy.

Medical profile
Izaina was blessed (or cursed?) with having the same strong, though sometimes stubborn character that had been passed through generations after generations of the McDouglas bloodline. However this was tempered by the compassion and selflessness that she had learnt from her mother. This has made her to be a little difficult to understand since she could be arguing with someone at the top of her voice in one moment and hugging the same person in the next. Because of this, she has avoided being in any romantic relationships as she believes a suitable suitor wouldn’t be able to stand her for long. She has only basic empathy skills that have so far been underdeveloped. Despite the urgings of her half sisters, she has resisted attending any training that would help her develop these skills. Although she has not told anyone, she secretly believes that having empathy skills would mean that she would be forgoing her human instincts.

Despite having Napean blood, Izaina does not possess the leaf shaped ridge on the forehead that is usually associated with most Napeans. In fact, a big part of her physical features are distinctively slanted to that of her father's, a proud Scottish scientist who had spent a big part of his life on Napea. Most striking of all is her fiery red hair that she keeps long, although due to Starfleet regulation, she keeps them tied neatly whenever she is on duty. She has emerald green eyes that has been frequently compared to the shade of green that glitters during the night from the reflection of Napea's moon. Izaina is slim with good body tones.
