Liam first attended Evergreen Academy, a private primary school in the evergreen area for his education through grade 8. He didn't have much interest in school, and remained at about average academically throughout this period.
Since his parents didn't believe spending money on a child who didn't want it spent on him was worth it, they put him in public education for secondary school, and he attended Evergreen secondary. For his first two years there, he showed the same dedication to school that he had displayed previously, but during the fall of his 11th grade year, he confronted his parents about enlisting in starfleet. They denied, but he quickly brought his academic performance up to par with Starfleet Academy entrance requirements.
After he graduated, he secretly found went to San Francisco to attend StarFleet Academy, where he took courses in Engineering and Flight Control.
