One son named Thales who was killed in the same epidemic that claimed her husband. It was later discovered that the epidemic was caused by biological weapon testing that was conducted on Platonius without their knowledge.
Family history
Having always followed the path of the original founders of Platonius, Themistoclea's father was a great philosopher and mathematician.
Her mother was a well-versed wife and never made a name for herself, but Pythagoras's daughters were great thinkers like their dad, especially Themistoclea. She was always very strong willed and almost uncontrollable as she was growing up. She challenged every theory and authority as well.

Education
Themistoclea was home schooled by her father since he could provide an education far superior to normal schools.
After a time, Pythagoras even found himself straining to keep Themistoclea challenged so he sent her to the "Academus of the Ancients", which caused a great controversy since it was normally reserved for the first born sons who would later become the philosophers of their time.
After her education was complete, Themistoclea fell in love and was content for a while, but tragedy struck her and that's when she decided to join Starfleet to expand her horizons and hopefully find peace.
She excelled at the Academy and encountered the ire of some men who were jealous of her standing.

Themistoclea was very healthy and strong. It was an embarrassment to her family that she was always engaging in combat tournaments that were usually reserved for the men. She acquired some broken bones and a few scars from these matches, but had never been seriously injured.
After losing her husband (who understood her powerful personality and loved her all the same), Themistoclea lost some of her will to compete and suffered from depression for several years. Finally, she accepted the deaths of her family and mellowed a bit.
She became comfortable with her feminine side, although she was still very strong willed and stubborn. She learned how to channel these traits to achieve more positive results.
Themistoclea suffers from withdrawal when she doesn't have access to Kironide extract. Platonius has an indigenous plant that was later found to have powerful kinetic energy properties. She has very long legs that are muscular and she has broad shoulders. Her hair is very long (hangs to her knees) and she keeps it twisted up in elaborate designs. She is athletic and trains heavily in contact sports. The sports help to disperse her kinetic energy powers.
