Family history
Aoi's family is a mixed race of Terran and El-Aurian descent. His father Reinare Struden is a full blooded Terran, while his mother Amarie is a full blooded El-Aurian. He also has an older brother Jerod, who is an officer in Starfleet as well. They have moved a lot in the past few years, from Alpha Centauri II, Rigel V, until finally settling down on earth, when Reinare's father died, and he inherited the vineyard and small shipping business, which curtailed to
a lot of fishing. Amarie, Aoi and Jerod's mother, who is approximately 273 years of age is somewhat of the quiet and reserved type. She used to be a researcher on several scientific and archeological missions until she met Reinare. Aoi, who is the younger brother of Aoi, is somewhat of a

He and Jerod have very contrasting personalities, where Jerod, who is more inclined to the arts, the academe, and more of a social creature, Aoi, is more headstrong, and equally as intimidating with and somewhat of a recluse. The two like competing with each other, especially in fencing, and hunting, and yachting. Jerod's family has always been very idealistic and full of dreams.

Education
Aoi attended the same school as his older brother Jerod in Becchi, Italy. They were pretty much schooled and trained in pretty much the same things. But that is where the similarities end. Jerod is more inclined to the arts and the academe, while Aoi had taken a lot more physical pursuits other than the current academic program he was accustomed to. Aoi had enrolled in Starfleet academy earlier than Jerod. Though he was particularly involved with intelligence due to his uncanny sense of observation. He was sent as a mole on several occassions for missions Starfleet Intelligence. One could say that he is a more aggressive version of his brother.
