Family history
Chad and Sunny Hogan both worked on Deep Space 12. Chad was CEO and Sunny was CMO. When the station came under Cardassian attack, all children were evacuated in shuttle pods and escaped Cardassian clutches thanks to Starfleet. Unfortunately, the station was destroyed and all were lost. Chase was 6 when she and her siblings were sent to live with their grandparents on Betazed.
Being humans in a mind-reading world wasn’t easy even though they each possessed various empathic abilities. While her other siblings learned to adapt and close off their minds, Chase became a bit of a rebel. She constantly challenging the world around her in more ways than her grandparents could handle and “trouble” quickly became her middle name.
In order to hopefully teach her a little discipline, they encouraged her to follow in her parents footsteps and enroll in Starfleet. Especially since she seemed to have her father’s mechanical ability and loved to fix things.

Education
While Chase’s grades were not great to begin with, it was her family’s name in Starfleet that got her into the Academy; particularly when she showed promise and aced most of the entrance exams.
Once enrolled she was able to focus her attention to her studies in her first couple of years and her grades were outstanding, however it wasn’t long before she grew comfortable and fell back into her old ways. Some of her pranks nearly got her expelled particularly when some of her old nemeses from Betazed enrolled in the Academy. It wasn’t until her grandmother threatened to send her to work on a mining colony for the rest of her life that she pulled through, graduating from the Academy with honours and making her first assignment on a Starship right away.

Medical profile
Chase has no diseases and nothing unusual wrong with her. She is human in all aspects with the exception of the Betazoid Black eyes and a small underdeveloped paracortex, genetically passed down from her Betazoid grandmother. It is dormant for the most part and serves only to give her a strong emotional sense of those around her.

Chase is of average build. She has an olive complexion, black eyes and shoulder length brown wavy hair. She has a scar on her right leg on her upper thigh when a broken femur pierced the skin.
