Erasmus' father moved the family to work as part of a terraforming colony. Columbha serves as doctor for the group. Sharren leads the biological development team. Ilsa is completing a degree in mechanical engineering on the Gallamite homeworld and will return to the colony at the end of the term. Burkhon works at the colony in botany.

Raised on a terraforming project from the Gallamite government, Erasmus has a versatile knowledge base. He has learned about topics as diverse as improvisational engineering, metallurgy, chemistry, medicine and artistic design.
