Family history
Flek was born on a station after his mother finished up a business deal. The younger of two sons of Molon and Amide, his early life was spent much in the same way as many Yridians, including his mother: smuggling and using the opportunity sell information in equal measure as goods.
However, he eventually ran into some bad luck and, worried for his life, abandoned his ventures and went on the run, laying relatively low for several years while attempting to keep himself out of trouble and trouble away from himself.
Ultimately unable to just keep his head down any longer and having met Starfleet members previously, Flek - also tempted by the idea of working at a larger scale than he had been - worked to gain admittance into the Federation and Starfleet, serving as a Tactical Officer to round out his skills before the skills he had going in got him a position as SOPS.
