Nating'xet is the only child to be born from his mating circle, seen as a grim sign of things to come on Andor. Much pressure is put on young andorians to mate, mating groups being put together at a very young age, waiting until they all mature enough to bear young.

The pressure is what got to Xet, who was always more emotional-minded than most others; he disliked the thought of being forced into a relationship, especially since his eyes and heart were on another...
Xet was educated informally on Andor, his parents teaching him some, and some his own research. His Zhavey did everything she could to align him to tradtional Andorian society, but Xet had other things in mind. After he had mated, and his obligations to Andor were finished, he left, deciding to join Starfleet Academy, where he graduated near the top of his class in the field of Flight Control.
Physically well fit, recovering from depression and post-trauma following a suicide attempt. He has made significant progress in therapy, and has been deemed fit for active duty once more.
