Family history
David met T'Lani while he was lecturing at MIT on the stability of solar magnetic fields when acted upon by artifical quantum singularities. T'Lani was a young student from Vulcan and David had lived in New England most of his life.
Education
Raised a child of scholars, Solkar was exposed to the best education that could be found. After majoring in Theoretical Physics and Cosmology at MIT, Solkar felt a strong urge to discover and create his belief structure. Solkar joined a group that traveled to the Tibetan region of the Himalaya's as restoration of the ancient temples had been needed. There is where Solkar learned his more advanced meditation techniques as well as learned some martial arts and physical training. When Solkar returned he apllied to the academy, with hopes of learning more of the nature of the universe.
Medical profile
Solkar has a couple of maladies. An allergy to penicillin derivatives, and felines. Solkar also has some discomfort from battling Carpal Tunnel.

Aside from the pointy ears, there's not much that would differentiate Solkar from any other human.
